LGBTQIA+ Task Force
The LGBTQIA+ Task Force is an action-oriented committee dedicated to LGBTQIA+ issues on campus, consisting of staff and faculty members at Highline College. The Task Force strives for institutional advancement in these areas, takes part in leading programming for LGBTQIA+ Week, develops and facilitates Safe Zones Trainings, along with other action-oriented activities.
As part of being an advocate for LGBTQIA+ students, the Task Force has worked with student clubs and taken part in furthering student engagement. This includes taking students to the Power of One and Queer I Am conferences. The LGBTQIA+ Task Force continues to facilitate conversations on campus around LGBTQIA+ issues and strives to provide Safe Zones training for staff, faculty, and students. In the past, Task Force members have been at the forefront of the initiative to implement gender-neutral restrooms on campus.
